ELF AND THE MOTORCYCLE
The Culture Moto 2025 exhibition will celebrate the fascinating history of the ELF brand in the world of Grand Prix motorcycle racing. From its beginnings as a sponsor to its role as a manufacturer in the 70s and 80s, ELF has left its mark on motorcycle racing at the highest level, whether in endurance, in the intermediate categories or in Grand Prix 500 and MotoGP.
This exhibition will highlight this rich history through emblematic models, such as Michel Frutschi's 750 Yamaha TZ, Thierry Espié's Chevallier 350, and the famous line of ELF motorcycles, with seven models covering the different evolutions since the first ELF X. Many riders who have left their mark on the ELF adventure will also be present, such as Philippe Coulon, Didier De Radigues, and Thierry Espié.
An exceptional surprise will close the event: for the first time in over 20 years, the legendary ELF E will return to the track of the Paul Ricard circuit, driven by Thierry Espié after a complete restoration. A historic moment for all motorcycle and ELF history enthusiasts.
BUILD DIFFERENTLY
"Building differently" with machines that have not respected the usual codes... a first example? The Benelli 6 MOCH endurance!
An exceptional machine entered in the 1977 Bol … 750 Benelli 6-cylinder engine rebored to 1000, and a chassis ……..quite innovative. The chassis is composed of a lower load-bearing shell in riveted aluminum which also serves as a tank. The rear single-sided swingarm is made by mechanical welding using 12/10 tenths sheet metal with a rim attachment by a single F1 type nut …. The engine anchoring and the swingarm attachment are made using a 25 CD 4S steel tube trellis. The bare chassis weighs 7 kg. We also notice the solid wheels…
The exhaust pipe-sculpture (9.12 m of tubes in all!!) will have only one defect... it comes right out onto the drivers' boots.
Prepared in less than 6 months, 2 motorcycles are lined up at the start of the 1977 Bol d'Or, one of which with Thierry ESPIE… who will be able to tell you everything since he will be with us in May
A dozen “differently built” motorcycles await you in this unique exhibition
